In the final days of the campaign, the Justice Department used information from Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence official, as part of its request for a secret court order to monitor Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to Mr. Trump and his ties to Russia, say people familiar with the matter.

Republican lawmakers want to know how Mr. Steele’s information came to be used in a secretive and sensitive surveillance probe. They are also trying to determine when, and if, the FBI learned that the Democratic Party was financing Mr. Steele’s work through the opposition research firm Fusion GPS—which could raise concerns about whether the surveillance was politically motivated.

Instead look at how his Russian contacts miraculously reached out to Trump team members, so they could subsequently be “unmasked”

Rep Nunez’s committee will vote on whether to release the memo to the public. The memo is regarding collusion between DOJ and FBI officials with the Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC.

Is there no one from the MSM other than Fox news who is reporting on tonight’s breaking news from Congress?

So the 4 page memo the Congresscritters read today is a summary of the other documents? This whole thing is very confusing.

The 2 republican congress critters (Jordan & Gaetz?) on Hannity show today claim that if this memo is released to the public, it clearly exposes collusion between high officials at DOJ & FBI against Trump. And further that the FISA request was signed on by Rosenstein or equivalent high official at DOJ or FBI and was based on the phony Trump Dossier.

But I agree this whole thing is getting more convoluted with passing time.

Rosenstein wasn’t in DOJ HQ during Obama admin. He was a US Attorney. Might be our old friend Sally Yates whose name has come up before.
