Federal law is one-party consent.
Every time I have a phone call with a public official, you can bet your butt I’m recording it.
I switched to an iPhone last summer and there is one big thing I don’t like about it. There are no programs that automatically records all your phone calls.
The is a great Android app that automatically records all your call, both incoming and outgoing, unless you enter phone numbers you don’t want recorded. FTR, I only record conversations with public officials. I don’t care if it is a one-party state or a two-party state.
I met with a Washington State Patrol Officer who runs their professional standards office. He refuses to investigate or give me a case number for a complaint against top WSP officers. As I was leaving, I informed him I had recorded our conversation.
He was pissed. Claimed it was against the law to record our conversation since Washington is a two-party state. I informed him that he was a public official performing an official function and he had no legal expectation of privacy. Told me I was committing a crime, to which I replied, “Well, you go right ahead and file a criminal complaint or arrest me right now; and we’ll see how that works out for you.”
I take it you don’t know.
No not a lawyer maybe that’s a good thing :-)
She is a spy.
Hang her.
