If anything, those facilities the US has within Turkey should be on lockdown, Too much is at stake to allow the Turks to gain access to the assets the US maintains there, which I believe, also includes nuclear weapons.
Turkey’s invasion of Syria is in pursuit of the Kurdish militia, the Peshmerga, which are very solid allies of the US forces in Iraq and Syria. While the Turks are fierce and even vicious fighters, they almost always come off badly when they engage directly with the Peshmerga, who are even more fierce and vicious, and it may prove to be a bridge too far for the Turks. Erdogan already has a very serious problem managing the Kurds within Turkey, and may have opened up a can of whup-azz on himself before this is settled.
When things are a little too quiet, kick the hornets’ nest. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
The timing reflects Turkeys increased frustration with our forces support for Kurdish forces in Syria, who are now in control of nearly 25 percent of the country, in areas that straddle the Turkish and Iraqi border.
Gulf News says a source in Turkey’s Foreign Ministry told them that Russia green-lighted the Efrin-Op and Erdogan agreed to hand over areas captured from to Assad.
Is this telling the Turks’ OLIVE BRANCH is to the Assad regime? It would see so but I doubt Erdogan will release any area to anyone once they have but control.
Best comment here by far.
I believe the Kurds have been armed with anti aircraft missiles.
I have a feeling Trump will get them what they need.
He’s not obummer.
Turkey in NATO is a joke or either NATO is a joke. Or maybe both.
Get the US out of there!! We could not care less!! YOU GO— TAKE YOUR SONS!!
