Syria is occupied by Russian, Iranian, American and now Turkish troops. What are American soldiers accomplishing? How will further sacrifices of human and material treasure enhance the security and well being of the American people? Trump should withdraw quickly before the US is mired in another Mideast quagmire.

exactly - I agree with Trump who said we squandered $6 trillion and thousands of lives over there for NOTHING. It’s a waste to get involved

....”What are American soldiers accomplishing?”.....

Until there’s a solid agreed negotiated settlement with each will retain their foothold in Syria in one degree or another in case things flare up as they’re doing now.

Turkey is no friend to any trying to negotiate as Erdogan wants Syria control entirely.

"Quagmire" always reminds me of Bloom County's very own Senator Bedfellow.

And Sen. McCain. Yeah. Him.

And Walter Cronkite.

Whose mention incites rancid associations with Jane Fonda.

Apart from your usage, when did you last hear a Real American ™ use the term?

Ask the Armenians how that worked out. You could expect the Turks to try the same genocide game when it comes to the Kurds.
