I have pics of rainbows bisected by lightning.

I have night vision of comet Halle bops tail bisected by a Meteor
Point is No one looks to the sky in wonder anymore.
They are all staring at an astronomy app on their IPhone, and they watch it the following day or week.

I got lucky with it. It was so flippin’ cold that night, I almost didn’t go out. But right before going to bed, I just couldn’t stand it. HAD to get at least a couple of shots of the moon. LOL! It was around 5 a.m. when I got it.

I like Rainbows. But nobody calls them Super, Blue, once in a 30 yr... Rainbows don’t get enough respect.

Show me a rainbow in the dark...

We're going to get a total lunar eclipse in Idaho. It's going to be very low in the western sky in the early morning hours. Track down a website, enter your location and get the event times to see if it is worth getting up to see.

The total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017 was very cool just north of Idaho Falls. Had 2 minutes, 15 seconds of totality. I left my house in Pocatello at 11:30 AM and was perfectly positioned by 12:15 PM. The "totality" was over by 12:42 PM. I was back in my driveway by 1:30 PM. The mass of humanity that came to observe caused huge traffic jams for a couple days. Locals zipped right on by the jams using the backroads.

The next total eclipse on US soil will require travel to Texas. I'm not certain that kind of drive is worth the effort. A 60 mile one-way drive up to Idaho Falls was totally worth taking the day off to see it.

It will come NO where close to the 100% SOLAR eclipse I experienced in Kentucky last year!!

Partials are ok; but do NOT raise the hair on ya!

I’d probably be better off with yours.

I’ve fairly dark sky in my neighborhood. Closest house is 1/5 mile away behind some woods. others are 1/2 to 1 mile away.

There is still plenty of light on the horizon from surrounding towns: closest about 7 miles.

Indianapolis puts a BIG glow to the west!
