MESA, AZ - A woman who says she was just looking for a ride home was zip tied and sexually assaulted. Mesa Police report that on January 5 a woman was walking near Broadway and Alma School roads when a man offered her a ride home.
The man, later identified as 27-year-old Fonseca Roman Orozco, took her to an apartment near Center Street and Southern Avenue. Orozco allegedly zip-tied her hands and and feet and sexually assaulted her several times before taking her outside and cutting her loose.
I’m shocked to see this type of behavior by a law breaker (extreme sarcasm)
You take a ride with a stranger offering you one? “Hey little girl, want some candy?” She was never taught this? She invited a disaster.
Yeah, she was a damn fool, but the zip ties were a bit much dont ya think?

Why is an illegal able to have an apartment?

Could be poor reporting or lack of editing but why would the first thing be ‘all I wanted was a ride home’?
Like I say I am full of cynicism so I may be reading to much into a poor job of reporting/editing... Just doesn’t ‘sit right’ with me...
Orozco, who is in the United States Illegally, is being held without bond for sexual assault.

Most women know better than to ‘look for a ride home’ with a stranger, unless it’s an extreme emergency. It should not be that way. It’s not fair, since most men do not harbor the same anxiety, but there you are, c’est la vie.
