Does it have a magazine that staggers rounds, to allow greater capacity? Oho. Does it have polymer coating on movable parts, to reduce wear? The 1911 is a great gun, but in the past 100 years, there have been innovations, some of them learned from working with the 1911.
Extremism in the pursuit of front page convictions can be a vice if done by a prosecutor who likes TV cameras excessively, and due process insufficiently.
And what about double action. Huh? Huh? The 1911 is a single action semi-auto. Got to pull the hammer back either with your thumb or the slide. The Glock is ready to go if the chamber’s full and the safety’s off.
“Extremism in the pursuit of front page convictions can be a vice if done by a prosecutor who likes TV cameras excessively, and due process insufficiently.”
But that changes AuH2O’s premise entirely, from “defense of liberty” to “pursuit of headlines.” Not that I doubt Kennedy would pursue headlines.
“Does it have a magazine that staggers rounds, to allow greater capacity?”
If I need more than 21 rounds, I shoulda brung an AK.
“Does it have polymer coating on movable parts, to reduce wear?”
That’s an innovation that makes the weapon less simple. Rarely a good idea, IMO. It will become more apparent how these innovations hold up after a few decades.
