One of the best messages I’ve heard...it was a sermon really, was given by Washington Redskins Arthur Monk at his Hall of Fame induction — who also came to Christ while playing football. :)

I remember that speech - it was moving. Here's the speech.

An excerpt:

"And even now as a Hall of Famer, the one thing I want to make very clear is that my identity and my security is found in the Lord. And what defines me and my validation comes in having accepted his son Jesus Christ as my personal savior. And what defines me is the word of God and it's the word of God that will continue to shape and mold me into the person that I know he's called me to be."

Arthur Monk’s speech has definitely shaped my faith and life in profound ways. Thanks so much for the link.

And in honor of the Eagles:

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like EAGLES; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” ~ Isaiah 40:31

And Philadelphia of course is named for the Ancient Greek city of “Brotherly Love.” mentioned in Revelations.
