This is what actual "smart diplomacy" looks like. Under Obama, Iran knew that it could do anything short of nuking Chicago and get away with it.
Once Obama made the Iran deal the centerpiece of his foreign policy legacy, any attack on it was an attack on him. Anything that might make Iran "walk away from the table" was taboo. So Hezbollah got a blank check to smuggle drugs. Members of Congress were spied on to protect the Iran deal. (Even well before Trump, Obama was using the NSA as a tool against his political opponents.)
American personnel could be captured, taken hostage, humiliated in front of the world, and Obama's little minions, like Ben Rhodes, would scurry to their media lapdogs spin the story.

Remember the stories. Remember the pictures.
Trump has put an end to that.
Trump is doing a great job.
“we’ll shot” works better than “we’ll pay ransom”?

This is what winning looks like!
Nuking Chicago.... hmmmm
We no longer have a treasonous president in the WH.
Thank you, President Trump. MAGA!
The president probably made it clear that if an Iranian boat came within a mile of the US Navy, they’d be sunk.
I suspect iran “lost” one of their harassment vessels some 5-6 months ago.
while on my way to persian gulf in november 1979 I was reading about Iranian harassment of our persian gulf ships; “buzzing” some of our ships with obviously armed f4 phantoms. When we went through the straights of hormuz we had four carrier task goups parked in the arabian sea just off irans’ coast and that put an end to their “games”.

Thanks detective.
Me theory is there was a late-night call to Iran - the next time you come within one mile of one of our ships, you’ll be blown out of the water.....
