FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is reportedly stepping down.
NBC News’ Pete Williams broke the news on-air today that McCabe moved up his timetable for stepping down and is out effective today.
As Williams explained, this is happening “sooner than anticipated.”
McCabe has come under scrutiny from Republicans in recent weeks, including from President Trump himself:

He gets his pension regardless.
This may finally be a Hannity tick that tocked.
I don't think he actually contemplated retirement until the $hit started hitting the fan.

He’s on leave using built up time off/vacation thus he’ll get retirement.

Yeah, his resigning five hours before the Meo is voted on, why it is just a coincidence.

I’m reading stories it was a forced removal. Wray, after seeing the memo, told McCabe he needed to leave.
Other reporting has him being escorted from the building, not resigning.
Not much to read into it? If you step down immediately, whether you were planning on retiring a few months in the future or not, it’s obvious that he wasn’t given a choice. I’m betting he was told to leave now, and use your accruals, or face disciplinary and criminal charges.
When is the race to be the first rat to roll over, thereby starting the tsunami of rats hoping to make a deal before it’s too late?
I don’t know about Federal employees, but New York State employees are able to accrue their sick leave prior to retirement, then the time they had on the books once they’ve retired, is pro-rated, and the money value from it, is used to reduce their monthly health insurance costs through the State. Any unused vacation time or personal leave on the books is converted to a dollar sum, and sent to the retiree in a separate check.
Since I’m not a Fed Employee, I don’t really know.................
