Strategic Syrian peak slips through Turkey's fingers — again

The battle for a strategic hilltop is fast becoming an embarrassment for Turkey as its “Olive Branch” offensive drags on against Syrian Kurdish forces in Syria’s Afrin region.

On Jan. 22, Turkish forces claimed victory over Bursaya amid cries of "Allahu Akbar," only to lose it within hours to the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Yesterday, Turkish forces and their allies from the Free Syrian Army planted the Turkish flag on top of the hill, declaring they had seized full control of Bursaya once again.

But authorities were forced to put the kibosh on a government-sponsored media tour of the hill today amid news that the YPG had beaten back the Turkish-led force for a second time. The hill, which serves as a buffer between the Turkish-controlled Euphrates Shield zone and Afrin, is a strategic prize. Overlooking Azaz, a logistical hub for Turkish military operations in Syria, Bursaya is a bridgehead to the rest of Afrin, which is why Turkey is hell bent on seizing it, YPG sources told Al-Monitor.

Turkish-led forces capturing territory by day only to lose it to the Kurds by night is becoming something of a pattern, and testing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s bullish pledges to drive the YPG out of the more than half of Turkey’s 900-kilometer (560-mile) border with Syria that remains under Syrian Kurdish control.

Sounds like this is their Gettysburg, eh?

I just found this verse in a folder for my desktop.
I believe God will do all according to His plan, but I will ask Him to bring glory to His name. Do the Kurds know His name?

Deut 7: 21

21 You shall not dread them, for the Lord your God is in your midst, a great and awesome God.

The stupidity of scheduling journalists to visit an area that hadn’r been held for even 24 hrs. Amazing.
Good weather for the Turk Air Force until the weekend. We’ll see what they can make of it.
I’m very disappointed in the lack of news coverage.

Do the Kurds know His name?

Some do.

There are 2 Christian Churches in Afrin. I read the number of families but suspect I should not state that.

Depending on the town in question in Northern Syria, the Christians are a fairly large number and quiet, but a growing number.

I’ve been told by friends in Iraq. The Pre ISIS Christians almost all left to survive, a few have come back. But the Church are fairly full with Christian Converts.

Unlikely. But I’m sure it is possible.

Well I mistakenly thought it was a bigger city, but at 40,000 (maybe more with refugees) it’s big enough to have some local media to supply feeds to Western media.
Maybe that’s my mistake, I’m used to the riches of America.
AFP had some presence there.
