We have a president in 2018 advertising the coal industry and not talking about the future. How that is appealing to anybody... Coal miners - and the local, state and national economies that still depend on them.
Coal may be on its way out as a major source of energy, but it is still utilized to generate a significant percentage (+/- 30%) of the electricity we use in this country. It is not dead yet, and probably won't be for a couple more decades, at least.
