Civil suits have nothing to do with criminality.
The DOJ/FBI illegally obtained private tax information from the IRS. Crimes were committed and they were never prosecuted.
I had a friend at the IRS who told me that they can’t even look at info on someone in the computer unless they’ve been assigned a case with that particular taxpayer. They get in big trouble for doing that.
Obviously it depends on how high up you are.
