100% of ALL electricity based communications (most say world wide but certainly in the western world) since AT LEAST 1970. That's not a rumor. That's a fact Qx learned in his Navy job from a colleague who had experience in such things.
Unconstitutional stuff has been going on a long time.
Early telephone cases by SCOTUS held no warrant required, because there is no reasonable expectation of privacy in phone use. Congress "quashed" that approach with legislation. Anybody who expects privacy v. the government, in electronic communication is naive.
The government snoops to the limits of technology and cost. The government sees the public as a potential threat, and justifies snooping on the basis that "there are some bad guyts out thre, so precrime searches of everybody are for your own good."
And the NSA is searching too - not just collecting, but filtering, continuously. Put "cboldt" in the filter, and my stuff comes out, voila.
