Lately, I have seen a dozen or so of his YouTube videos. He’s a fifth generation Californian growing up in the poorest part of the state. He provides interesting perspectives on a variety of topics.

Trump is hard to swallow for some, especially because of his rough origins. Shouldn’t a good president be more refined, his history of more probity? Why should we believe a sudden burst of optimism that came out of nowhere that we can trace would propel a person such that Donald Trump was into a stellar course?

And yet... it did. Some skepticism to Donald is understandable. Some skeptics simply didn’t believe a good president would come out of such a dicey mold. But when it’s God who poured him into that mold, all the rules are broken.

It’s parallel in some ways to the story of Jesus. We hear about the manger bed so often that it’s old hat. But the Jews expected a big shot messiah. Not this “redneck” homebrew preacher guy. But God says hold My wine and watch this....

His new book, the second world wars, is an outstanding history lesson - even for someone like me that is well read on the subject. I highly recommend it. The man is a national treasure.

Comey:

“Nor did anyone force Comey to leak confidential notes of a meeting with the president of the United States to the media in a deliberate effort to force appointment of a special counsel. Comey swore that he did not write his letter of legal exoneration until after interviewing Hillary Clinton; we now know that was likely also a false statement. Comey also changed the wording of his original draft to ensure Hillary Clinton’s immunity from possible criminal liability.”

I’m guessing the delay in the sentencing of Mike Flynn is to postpone the sentencing until after Trump is interviewed by Mueller.

I think we're dealing with "the fruit of the poisonous tree", the FISA warrant was obtained under false pretenses and everything gets thrown out, Flynn walks.

Even “small” abuses of FISA should be a capital Crime...

Twice in a row from VDH!

Victor Davis Hanson is the top conservative intellectual in our country. He has always written as an academic and has been at best cool toward President Trump (and even “cool” is overstating his support). VDH has clearly made his decision on Trump.

After reading the comments on this thread all I have to say is some have a vivid imagination with leaps into the fantasy world. But then, your opinion is a good as mine so I will add to the leap into the fantasy world that exist today.

I suspect President Trump has known about the wiretapping since the beginning (remember he tweeted as much).

We also need to remember that on a number of occasions using tweets the President has set up his opposition. He would tweet something and the left would go wild and then he drops the other shoe on them and they are left wondering what happened.

He has had a year to gather information on the crimes committed by the Democrats. I believe he will take action when the timing is best.

The Muller investigation is going no where because there is no where to go. Muller has to know this. He would have known this going in. The hope was that with 24/7 negative coverage in the media, the Democrats refusal to work with him, and out side agitators stirring up violence across the nation that by now President Trump would be so wounded any indictment would bring him down.

But President Trump surprised them. He has managed to get a lot done. The President is doing what many in this country wants done. He is not vulnerable to any kangaroo court style impeachment.

So to those that fear the left will win, stay strong. It is not over until President Trump says it is over.

The right wing elites are just as out of touch with the average citizen as the leftists. They think we want globalism, unbridled immigration, free trade, off shoring, poor quality imports and de-industrialization. Like those are good things to them.

VDH is a douche. But even a douche can get it right every now and then. It takes a crowbar for these elites to wake up.

...or are considered sacrosanct (Obama, Loretta Lynch, etc.).

EPIC FAIL by Victor Davis Hanson.

In a republic under the rule of law, no individual and no organization is sacrosanct or "too big too fail."

The individuals responsible were temporarily privileged to hold positions of responsibility in the service of our Nation. At best, they are now citizens of this Nation, subject then, now, and in the future, to its laws, and deserving of no higher honorific than Mr., Mrs. Miss, or Ms.

The full weight of responsibility and accountability for their actions must be imposed upon them for the rest of their lives.

Regardless of the individual, each of their probable criminal actions must be fully, openly, and fairly investigated.

Depending upon the results of each investigation and the rule of law, the individuals responsible must be indicted, arrested, and tried.

If the evidence demonstrates guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, they must be convicted, and sentenced with the harshest punishment the court can impose, including the complete and total forfeiture of any assets or benefits accured by the individual as a result of government service or as a result of their criminal actions.

Conviction of a felony commited while in government service must result in immediate loss of any pension, medical care, personal protection, or any other benefit that imposes a cost upon the taxpayers and the American citizens.

The laws of this nation must be impartially, implacably, and thoroughly applied in all cases. A plea of guilty should only be accepted upon stipulation of complete guilt to each and every charge and a willingness to accept the harshest punishment the court can impose.

Due to the seriousness of the charges and their existential threat to the continued existence of our nation, neither bond nor bail should be permitted after indictment.

Prison time must be served among either the general population in a Federal prison or, if solitary confinement is warranted, in a SuperMax Federal prison. No options for Club Fed. No probation and no parole.

The voluminous electronic records of emails, texts, phone calls, and all other evidence must be meticulously catalogued, preserved, and electronically published by the National Archives so that an accurate recored may be preserved for future generations. If personal electronic devices and systems were used in the performance of government duties, the individuals forfeit any claims of privacy to any data on such systems and the entire data contents of those systems and devices must also be included in the perpetually published evidence above.

"Pilling On," Unnecessary Roughness," and the "Mercy Rule," are rules from sports and games.

No matter how enfeebled, impaired, destitute, or ill the individuals involved become, the rule of law and justice must be imposed until each and every violation is accounted for and answered. Death provides the only absolution from these crimes.

Each individual who is found guilty and sentenced after a full, fair, open, impartial investigation and trial will serve as a daily reminder to those who are temporarily privileged to hold positions in the service of this Nation and their fellow citizens, that they too shall be held fully accountable for any and all illegal acts.
