The fact that there are 800,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in Pennsylvania is meaningless. My home county (Westmoreland) is a prime example. Democrats hold a 3-2 registration edge. Trump carried our county by 64% or roughly twice the vote margin as he produced in the entire Commonwealth.

Lots of people here register Democrat because they don't like their tax assessments screwed with or similar reasons. The governor's office regularly alternates between parties.
