BREAKING: Senate leaders have reached an agreement on a two-year budget deal, adding billions of dollars in federal spending.

The bipartisan accord would lift statutory budget limits by more than $200 billion, provide tens of billions of dollars in disaster relief funding.

Senate leaders unveiled the deal Wednesday after months of negotiations -- and after Senate Democrats agreed to set aside immigration policy demands.

The plan still faces head winds -- particularly in the House, where conservative Republicans are balking at the increased spending and liberal Democrats want further assurances on immigration.

The announcement came as Congress faces yet another government shutdown deadline of Thursday at midnight.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Wednesday that she and “a large number” of fellow Democrats will oppose a spending deal to keep the government open unless she’s guaranteed a vote on immigration legislation.

Sounds like Pelosi will support this huge deficit budget bill if she gets amnesty.

Give them the same assurances the Democrats gave Pres. Reagan when they promised no more amnesty!

If shut-down Schumer caved rather than face more ridicule, then Pelosi is no longer the main course, but a mere side dish. Rice-a-roni. The San Francisco treat.

MAGA

same assurances the Democrats gave Pres. Reagan...

In exchange for a 1.8 million+ bloated DACA *with* citizenship path, full funded wall with appropriations, end to chain mig, e-verify, [10 other things].... and then, after all is passed, construction in-progress with all funds allocated, pull the rug completely from DACA?

Sounds like Trump pushed Schumer in corner and he had to support this proposed bill with nothing for DACA/immigration. Military is funded for the next two years, and increases funding for infrastructure and children health care. Chuckie had no place to go and he was terrified with Trump’s statement, “Americans have dreams too.”

Listening to Schumer who is taking all the credit for the budget. Rattling off all the items that the GOP had put in there, and saying the democrats were the reason it got done.

GOP doesn’t get it.

Go to a 51% majority on voting and be done with these people.

Basically, the Senate wants to thwart the House’s power of the purse, by never passing any House appropriations bills and passing two-year spending bills.

McConnell and Schumer are in on this, as McConnell and Reid were.

They also want to prevent Trump from actually CUTTING spending, by say, vetoing individual spending bills.

It’ll be all or nothing. One vote up or down, not several. And one signature, yes or no, not several.

It’s insidious, which is why McConnell and his whole leadership team needs to go.

RE:”McConnell and Schumer are in on this, as McConnell and Reid. They also want to prevent Trump from actually CUTTING spending, by say, vetoing individual spending bills.”

That may be true except Ryan hasn't got any of those passed by House either to test it.

Probably few in congress want that as most of them have their pet projects they don't want to risk.

With Pelosi holding back some of her votes for amnesty this might be interesting.
