Nah, People would not be effective in this role. An APC doesn’t have to slow down very much when crunching a protester under it’s tracks..

Also, the lack of fast-slow-fast-slow is easier on the troops inside as well as the engine, transmission and suspension.

We’re all taxpayers. We have to remember what’s important here!

When I was an M113 driver in C/2/12 Cav at Fort Hood in the mid-70s, I practiced zig-zag tactical cross-country maneuvering (supposedly to avoid Sagger missile launches and T60 cannonfire) by chasing jackrabbits and armadillos around the Fort Hood training areas.

The guys in the back hated when I did that ...
