Whistleblower protections pertain to covered disclosures of wrongdoing to colleagues, the Congress, supervisors, the IG, DOJ, etc. I am guessing that disclosures to paid hacks like this lawyer expose you and your information while not giving you the protection you need because a paid for disclosure is not a protected disclosure AND it undermines your credibility.
