This is so goofy I wonder if it's coded:
He took a sip of the cranberry juice he was nursing, picked up his bag and said, “Thank you.” Then he walked out the door. Really? Include a useless detail like what the guy was drinking? If "cranberry juice" isn't a code word, then it's an identifier. Or... the author is seriously OCD.
