That is exactly what this is about. If both husband and wife are working, they can’t afford a $116 co-pay? How about family helping them out if necessary? The government is the solution to every problem, need, want, or desire according to liberals. Nobody would dare ask the husband what they spend their money on that $116 is such a stretch.

She's cute and young. It's a shame she wasn't able to fight this off.

Co-pays are plot by Trump to kill off teachers.

>>Holland got sick about a week ago and took medication, but delayed picking up the prescription due to the $116 copay

Got diagnosed and opted to “heal thy self”.

How did she “take medication” if sh didn’t pick up the prescription? Or did she wait until payday to pick up the prescription? Could she have opted for a partial dispensation (say 4 days supply instead of 10 day) to begin immediate treatment?

$116 co-pay? Must have had an Obozo-care Bronze plan.

“but delayed picking up the prescription due to the $116 copay, according to the newspaper.”

Bet her cable bill was 3/4 of that.

Oh well...

They prescribed Tamiflu, which has a copay of about that amount, and she didn’t feel it was worth it for the little benefit the medication has when a person gets the flu. Nothing more than that. It’s a highly unfortunate and unlikely death, since she was young and apparently healthy.

What medication could she be taking for the flu that cost that much?

I'd be curious as to what the doctor prescribed.

My friends doctor prescribed something. It was $100. There was another similar and just as effective medicine for $25.

I've been hit with this same circumstance.

Get to know your druggist.

She delayed taking Tami-Flu and I can understand that. Tami-Flu co-pay for me was $96 and has a lot of side-effects. I did not enjoy taking it.

The problem is Tami-Flu only is effective if you take it right away when you get the flu. If you wait a few days and then take it it doesn’t do any good. That’s probably what happened in her case. She chose ... poorly.

Prescription for flu runs $116 for just the copay? What kind of medication was it?

Had Ms. Holland gotten a flu shot this year? Last stats I saw for this year had the unvaccinated accounting for 80% of deaths.

Vitamin D3 5,000IU prevents the flu.

They come in easy-to-swallow softgels.

I have taken one per day (in organic coconut oil) and only been sick once this winter, and that was just the general cold.

People are not taking sufficient quantities of Vitamin D.

Very sad case, but there isn’t a sick teacher alive who truly could not afford a hundred dollar life-saving treatment for an illness. In this poor girl’s case, she gambled, unwisely, that she could get away with not paying for her treatment (and, btw, not everyone who gets treated survives) and lost.
