Democrats are winning the narrative and winning their priorities in Capitol Hill spending deals despite congressional GOP majorities and a Republican president, said Tom Van Flein, current chief of staff for Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), on Fridays edition of SiriusXMs Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour. Van Flein, who served as Alaska Gov. Sarah Palins attorney before coming to Congress with Gosar in the 2010 Tea Party electoral victory, offered a grassroots conservatives behind-the-scenes look at the dysfunctional congressional budget process.
Democrats political victories include the prioritization of a broad bipartisan push for amnesty despite Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, said Van Flein.
Right now, for whatever reason, even though Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the presidency, weve been dealing with Democratic priorities, said Van Flein. So Democrats got a lot their spending priorities passed. We are losing even though were supposedly running the show. Were talking about immigration amnesty, not building a wall, not border security; that means theyre winning the narrative and theyre winning their priorities.
Van Flein explained how Congresss repeated reliance on continuing resolution-style spending bills has reinforced the political priorities of Rep. Nancy Pelosis (D-CA) and the Democrat Party, despite Republican majorities in both chambers of Congress and a Republican president.
Weve been really running, when you do these continuing resolutions, Nancy Pelosis priorities since 2006, said Van Flein. Theyve just increased the amounts, but the priorities pretty much remain the same; thats how a continuing resolution works.
Representatives and senators could not have sufficiently considered Fridays 652-page spending bill prior its passage, said Van Flein, pointing to the 18-hour window allotted for its review.

Tom Van Flein: GOP Congress Still Running Nancy Pelosis Priorities Were Talking About Amnesty, not Building a Wall
dunno. I know it’s not fashionable at FR to be anything but furious at republicans, but nancy pelosi looked awfully pissed off the other day as she babbled mindlessly for hours and hours about the offspring of illegals.
she didn’t look like she was “winning the narrative”.
“Democrats are winning the narrative and winning their priorities in Capitol Hill spending deals despite congressional GOP majorities and a Republican president, said Tom Van Flein, current chief of staff for Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ),”
With the election of Pres. Trump we now have absolute proof that there really is only ONE party with ONE goal in mind and that is open borders for THEIR New Global World Order.
I don’t know how anyone could argue differently. Republicans whined and whined about how they couldn’t do anything for 8 years because they didn’t have control. During those 8 years Obama and the dims STEAMROLLED over everyone and everything regardless of whether it was legal or NOT. They have had control for a year and with the exception of just a few they are acting all squishy on everything. Proves to me they are just lazy. I really think Republicans never really want to win. So much easier to collect their salaries and their perks with just a little whining involved.
“but nancy pelosi looked awfully pissed off the other day as she babbled mindlessly for hours and hours”
She’s distracted trying to figure out how she’s going to get her Botox at GITMO.
Any policy towards illegals must - MUST - address the incentives that are set up by that policy. Are you incentivizing more to try their hand at illegal entry or are you incentivizing them to stay home and apply through the legal process?
With 600 million people south of our porous non-existent southern border and untold millions outside the Americas who might also avail themselves of this easy access, there can be only one immigration policy -
Stop giving prizes
for illegal entry.
Any measure that permits those who entered illegally to benefit from that illegal act is amnesty. And any amnesty will bring millions more invaders.
This must be stopped.
Will you help stop this?

I disagree with Van Flein.
Though the Pubs have majorities in both houses of congress, they don’t have enough votes to invoke cloture. Therefore, the spending bill had to have Rat votes to pass, & to get them, the Rats had to get something out of the deal. The beauty of the bill is its 2 year duration which will put an end to shutdowns during that period. This leaves the Pubs 2 whole years to ignore Rat threats.
Just because the MSM & the Rats talk constantly about amnesty doesn’t mean they control the conversation. The ONLY way they will get a Dreamer deal is if they can compromise with both the Pubs & Trump. I very much doubt Trump will sign any bill without a solid provision for building the wall & serious curbs on the visa lottery & chain migration. Rats are up against a wall with the pending expiration of Obama’s DACA order, & ICE is making them sweat with increased deportations. Even the Dreamers are criticizing the Rats.
I do agree the spending bill was passed in haste, but it always is. Obviously we are spending too much & our spending priorities are flawed. But, sometimes you have to spend money early to save in the long run.
Overall, the Federal government is a huge mess. Trump can’t fix everything over night. He needs more reliable votes in Congress. I believe his strategy of painting the Rats as far left, unreasonable loons is working. We must have patience. The huge ship of state takes a while to reverse course, but isn’t it obvious the turn has begun?
Tom is wrong. He just doesn’t understand the reality.
The Republicans do not control the Senate.
Lacking control, a deal was made.
Politics is the art of the possible.
Bush League Republicans are still running most of the GOP.
He needs more reliable votes in Congress.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is the key.
We need to Cantorize the weasels and replace them with patriots.
There are FOUR Senators on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
Military gets funded and the sequester is over so we won even though the debt cap ans spending continue to drain us...
freepers that are perpetually and conspicuously pissed off at republicans for stuff the republicans had nothing to do with are all going to find your utterly sensible post deeply annoying.
