Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) said Sunday she believes Congress should hold President Trump accountable for the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against him.
I think he should resign, and if hes unwilling to do that, which is what I assume, then Congress should hold him accountable. Were obligated to have hearings, Gillibrand said in an interview with CBS's 60 Minutes.
Gillibrand, who was among the first to call for former Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) to resign due to sexual misconduct allegations, was also one of several Democratic senators who late last year said Trump should resign due to sexual misconduct allegations that surfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign.
If he did not resign, the senators and some of Trumps accusers said Congress should investigate the claims. When asked on "60 Minutes" why it took until late last year to call for Trump to be held accountable, Gillibrand said "something changed" when he was elected, "and I think it changed for women."
Trump attacked Gillibrand on Twitter after she called for his resignation, saying she would do anything for campaign donations.
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on Sunday criticized the senator for protecting and defending Bill Clinton when he was accused of sexual misconduct. Clinton left office in 2000, and Gillibrand was elected to Congress in 2006.
Gillibrand, who recently said Clinton should have resigned at the time, told 60 Minutes her perspective on the allegations against the former president has changed.
I think Im not alone here. Like, how many of us were having this conversation even a year ago? she said. I think were all learning.
She declined to say whether shes spoken to the Clintons since she changed her stance, but added that Hillary Clinton is still her greatest role model in politics.
Well, she has a lot of competition in The Senate - Murray, Durbin, Feinstein, et al.
I heard that Kirsten molested little babies.
She should resign immediately.
Ever since Biden left to be VP the competition has been ongoing.
Yep...Demonrats take accusations very seriously when they’re made against Republicans, not so much against them though.
Figures.
If I may put on my tinfoil for a sec here, did the death of JFK, Jr. pave the way for Hillary in NY? Somebody suggested that to me the other day and I must admit I don’t recall the events exactly.
If Trump said that of her the liberals would explode.
Trump should say it.
For sure, if not for double standards Rats would have none at all.
Gee she’s stupid enough to think she might have Lieawatha blood
May be but personally, THIS is the kicker for me:
but added that Hillary Clinton is still her greatest role model in politics.
[ but added that Hillary Clinton is still her greatest role model in politics. ]
Ah, so her role model is a crooked, lying scumbag.
Good catch
So, which deep state puppetmaster is pulling her strings?
I think Im not alone here. Like, how many of us were having this conversation even a year ago? she said. I think were all learning.
Yeah. We get it, hon! Now that Bubba is pretty much useless and too old to be a factor in your 'RAT Party anymore, you only NOW are willing to throw him overboard. Got it! Maybe you can hitch your wagon to Fauxcahauntus.
Well, even Satan himself views Killery Rotten as his role model, so ..
Gillibrand gives PA’s Bob Casey a run for the money as the dumbest member of the U.S. Senate.
D - T - T T - O - !!!!!!!!
