“Don’t understand your point.”

I believe you are referring to my Bank of China/Wal-Mart comment.

Wal-Mart buys Chinese stuff.

In China they use yuan as the currency.

The dollars Wal-Mart spends get converted in yuan using yuan from the Bank of China.

When the Bank of China refuses to give yuan in exchange for dollars the Chinese manufacturers will cut off Wal-Mart because there is no domestic Chinese use for hundreds of billions of US dollars.

But compared to the rest of the world, we are GOLDEN.

I don’t say that as a good thing. I say it as the truth. Our situation is crap but compared to the rest of the world we are golden. It is only the RELATIVE position we have that is keeping us afloat.

> Sadly, no one cares anymore. <

Yep. There are even calls now by some in Congress to eliminate debt ceiling legislation. Just do away with that whole idea. No more embarrassing votes. Just spend away.

> The way it will end will be with defaults, riots and perhaps civil war <

Again, yep. But first will come wild inflation as the Fed’s go crazy with the printing presses.

Hopefully I’ll be dead before it gets too bad here.

I feel the same way. In fact, I hope our Congesscritters pull every scam in the book to keep the ball rolling until I'm gone.

“it may not come in any of our lifetimes”

It will probably come within a decade.

In early 1930’s, the sun never set on the mighty British Empire.

By the early 1960’s it was almost gone.

A few tax havens remain.

Nothing will change until there’s a 100 mile swath of glowing radiation from D.C. to Boston.

Just enough of ‘em to make certain that the accurate one will be ignored by most everyone.

Hold up a second — that goofy kid that is always screaming about wolves is running down the street again.

“compared to the rest of the world”

US has bad finances and bad politicians, our health care costs make broad-based manufacturing non-competitive. Its citizens are taught to emote rather than to think.

Germany - better in all aspects
France - about equal, but now better run
Italy - worse
Greece - worse, but a top-notch climate
Japan - worse financially, but Japan is a top, broadly based manufacturing country able to compete on quality and price
China - ???, but it’s the world’s #1 manufacturer with unbeatable scale and capability
UK - about equal, but the Queen runs the world’s tax and regulatory havens

So are you buying any of their currency? Why does the world want to hold dollars yet?

Out of control spending by government has been going on for over a hundred. And now the media is concerned? The last they were concerned about this was when Reagan was President.

There is no chance that Walmart will be unable to get yuan. That is one of the functions of the international money market. Without Walmart China would be in deep schiff they aren’t going to screw with that.

In the 30s the mighty British empire was a fraud, it could’t even save the homeland.

WW1 destroyed the empire.

Why do you post such stupid schiff?

Do you believe that is funny or are you just appealing to the lunatic fringe of the lunatic fringe?

Ryan has sheparded legislation quite well.
