Anthony Ferrante coordinated the U.S. governments response to Russian election interference. Now hes helping a news site defend itself from a Russian billionaires lawsuit.
For the last six months, a team led by a former top FBI and White House cybersecurity official has been traveling the globe on a secret mission to verify parts of the Trump dossier, according to four sources familiar with different aspects of the ongoing probe.
Their client: BuzzFeed, the news organization that first published the dossier on U.S. President Donald Trumps alleged ties to Russia, which is now being sued over its explosive allegations.
The investigation, being conducted by FTI Consulting, is running in parallel to special counsel Robert Muellers probe into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in Kremlin-directed efforts to interfere with the 2016 presidential election. With the special counsel probe under wraps, the BuzzFeed court case could represent the first public airing of an investigation into the veracity of some of the dossiers claims.
FTI is a Washington-based business advisory firm that specializes in areas ranging from corporate litigation to forensic accounting, and it is a frequent post-government landing pad for FBI officials.
The ramifications of FTIs dossier investigation could be game-changing for Muellers probe, because it would establish outside veracity of dossier allegations, a source familiar with the work told Foreign Policy. Yet news of FTIs involvement, including the critical role of a former top FBI official, would also be controversial because the dossier itself is a political football, the source said.

lots of pressure right now for the dark side to come up with “proof”.
We have a Grassley II here. They keep trying to claim there are third party corroboration when it is the same head which is coordinating all these “independent” revelations
Utter bulsht The journalist is
ot even making the connection
Speaking of the media...
In the White House briefing today, Sarah Huckabee answered a very good question posed by John Roberts, FOX News White House correspondent. This was the FIRST question up.
He reported there in the briefing that the FBI was contacted by Porter’s first wife, in January, 2017, and they subsequently interviewed her (and also his second wife).
Roberts question was that if in all that time since, (12 months) when was it that any ONE IN the White House was first contacted, by the FBI, with this information?
Her answer was that “ the first we knew about it was on Wednesday”(last week). Roberts asked her, “Who is, ‘we’?”.
Sarah said, “the White House”.
Does this answer really mean that the Trump hating FBI withheld this information from the White House, or what?
Trump has a schedule and people who were with him....dates of his travels would be known. It shouldn’t be that hard to square or not square accusations with know hotel and travel dates. Hotels have cameras.
Besides having a dally with a prostitute is not Russian collusion and Trump has never been sworn under oath concerning allegations of “golden showers”! I don’t believe Trump did it anyway!
From the article:
“As a top FBI cybersecurity official tasked to the White House, Ferrante was in charge of coordinating the U.S. government response to Russian attempts to meddle in the 2016 presidential election, among other responsibilities. Prior to joining the NSC in 2015, Ferrante was chief of staff for the FBIs cyber division at headquarters under then-Director James Comey. Ferrante, still working for the FBI but at the White House, stayed in his position as director for cyber incident response at the NSC through the Trump administration, until April 2017, when he left to join FTI.”
This was the FBI Chief of Staff of the cyber division in charge of investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election.
And now after 6 months of his team trying to verify the so called “dossier” he has nothing.
The corrupt FBI is covering its sorry *** bigtime.
If anyone should be the target of a FISA warrant, it’s this guy. Running all over Russia and no doubt coordinating with old colleagues in the US. The sedition tour.
more bs spread as truth, the fbi should be not allowed to even look anymore
Isnt Buzzerko being sued?
Verify? Transparent fraudulent fiction? LMAO. Maybe some clown will pay him $100,000 for the story.
the problem with this phrase is that the meme-warriors already have half the idea implanted in your brain.
It isn't unverified rubbish, because the opposite is verified rubbish, which is nonsense.
Its plain ordinary weaponized fraudulent vanilla rubbish of the kind the weaponized puppet controlled MSM spews forth all the time.
Snipe hunt!
On the trail of Bigfoot.
At this point, it's not a verification job, it's a sales-job.
ANd then leaked to hurt the WH...
1. Publish the accusation
2. Try to verify over a year later
Yeah, that’s not how it works.
“The ramifications of FTIs dossier investigation could be game-changing for Muellers probe, because it would establish outside veracity of dossier allegations,”
so they’re trying to tell us that the FBI is incapable of such an investigation itself and has to rely on second-stingers hired by a fake news click-bait website?
yeah, right.
btw, foreignpolicy.com is nothing but a far-far-left agitprop website.
Buzzfeed is going to be the first news org to be slapped with Obstruction.
Then watch the MSM run for cover.
For reasons of my own I rarely use source links so I don’t know if such a legal action took place. But if it was reported , It’s standard “J” practice for the source to report who initiated the action , when, as well what court, and the type of damages then cite them in the lead paragraph when reporting the story. Otherwise if not the question I have Is Buzzfeed jumping the gun ?
