This is brilliant!
Not only do they get the food they need, they probably get cheaper and healthier food than they might have picked out themselves. They can’t convert the food into other things and fraud the system as readily.
Such a system could conceivably reduce the cost while providing more food to benefit recipients. And it might drive some of the fraudsters out of the system.
They probably need to make allowances for allergies.
Sounds good but it’s like giving kids food they don’t like at school lunch. It winds up in the trash. In that sense its a way to cut the $ given as $ which is a step in the right direction.
I’m surprised Michelle Obama didin’t think this one up.
