Here’s a story from about 30 years ago in my hometown.
The wife of our Chief of Police was in a check out line at the grocery store behind a woman with a cart overloaded with food and preparing to pay for it all with food stamps. When it came to all of the meats and shrimp the chiefs wife had had it and stated “my husband and I both work good jobs and we can’t afford to eat that much shrimp. To which to other woman responded “we don’t eat all of that shrimp-my husband uses it for bait”.
I believe youre story and Im surprised youre not in the deep south. I say that because over the last few years Ive met a number of employment challenged individuals with drawls way up here that are using purchased shrimp to catch channel cats.
