Not exactly, Iron Dome is for much more local rockets and missiles, launched from a range of 4-70 km. It does not have the operational ceiling to target long range ballistic missiles launched into space from hundreds to thousands of km away.
The Arrow system is designed for the latter, and the Arrow-3 is now being deployed, although I’m not sure how many Israel has right now. Let’s hope that they can afford enough of the Arrow-3s to provide very full protection against whatever Obozo has helped Iran to develop.

What is the problem with smacking them close in? Better than not at all, surely.
IMHO Israel’s only defense will be offensive deterrence. Their next dustup with Iran in Syria has to include (a) massive destruction / hundreds of casualties of Iranian troops (b) sinking of Iranian ships off the coast of Iran.
Also a pre-emptory nuclear strike on Iran has to come sooner rather than later. Otherwise Iran launches and Pakistan and Hezbullah join in. Israel wins (India nukes Islamabad) but Israel takes 50-100k civilian casualties.
