While this is good news, there are some structural reasons that aren’t repeatable.

On the other hand hand, reform in the positive direction tends to take about 18 -24 months to really get going.

“W” saw the deficit reduced from about 500 billion to 100 billion in four years after his tax cut in the early 2000’s - Trump should do at least as well......

Yes, just think if we had a one week shutdown and actually kept the 2% in wages, instead of paying the workers for not working. Better still, let’s have a two week shutdown and pocket 4%. In so doing, we might even find some of the “workers” were not really needed at all! I mean the auto industry closes down production lines, and furloughs workers when they have too much unsold inventory! And as I see it, we have “unsold inventory” in the form of the national debt.
