Excerpt from comment section of the article:
“A common thread between Gen. Flynn and Sen. Stevens is Attorney Andrew Weissmann - Mr. Muellers right-hand man on the SC team. Mr. Weissmann is a man with a history of prosecutorial misconduct that includes his overturned prosecutions of Arthur Anderson, Merrill Lynch employees and Sen. Stevens”
Bottom line:
Weissmann has a history of withholding exculpatory evidence and should be disbarred, if not in jail.
Fascinating article. Rare example of a reporter doing real research to add to the public knowledge of a topic. Also that comment is fascinating if true (ie that Weissman was the Stevens prosecutor).
My one quibble with the article is:
I have been wondering why, shortly after Judge Rudolph Contreras was (without explanation) recused from hearing the Michael Flynn case and Judge Emmet G. Sullivan took over, Special Counsel Robert Mueller agreed to postpone the sentencing until May, after the inspector general’s report is due.
where “shortly after” is almost two months later.
