Liz Warren Makes Surprise Appearance At Tribal Nations Policy Summit
Daily Caller ^ | February 14, 2018 | Amber Athley

Sen. Elizabeth Warren addressed claims of her Native American heritage at an American Indian policy summit on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, The Daily Caller reported that Warren was conspicuously not scheduled to speak at the Tribal Nations Policy Summit in Washington, DC, despite being the only Senator to claim a Native American heritage. (RELATED: Elizabeth Warren Absent From Tribal Nations Policy Summit)

Warren apparently changed her mind about appearing at the summit and made a surprise appearance on Wednesday, addressing allegations that she has lied about her ancestry. Cherokee genealogists have traced Warren’s family tree and found no evidence to support her claim of minority status. Warren kicked off her speech by bashing President Donald Trump for jokingly referring to her as “Pocahontas,” asserting that the real Pocahontas is “far darker” than the Disney movie and is routinely “twisted” to serve political purposes. “The joke, I guess, is supposed to be on me,” she said. “I get why some people think there’s hay to be made here. You won’t find my family members on any rolls, and I’m not enrolled in a tribe.”

“And I want to make something clear. I respect that distinction. I understand that tribal membership is determined by tribes — and only by tribes. I never used my family tree to get a break or get ahead. I never used it to advance my career,” she continued, addressing criticisms that she listed herself as Native American in law school directories. Still, Warren insisted that her mother’s family was part Native American and that it was always a part of her history.

She went on to address the problems in the Native American community and promised that she would share their stories in Congress.

Sadly, yes. Anyone send her a “23andMe” dna test kit yet? I heard someplace they are NOT as accurate as some think. But hey, if there’s a smidgen, she could get some “first citizen” casino action going. ;-)

“I’m a naasstyyy Native American”

And no - she’s lying through her teeth when she says she never used her claimed Native American ancestry to get ahead. She brought it up for political gravitas and she used it in her resume for the same.

That she’s pooh-pooh’s Tribal law (yes I’m not on any tribal rolls) is just... “my god - you’re such a progressive and laws don’t apply to you but only to the little people”

She is a clown. I hope she runs and I hope she gets the nomination. Trump would simply need to sit on the toilet and tweet and his landslide would be certain.

In this day and age, we are told to accept everyone for what however the “identify”, so I guess that gives here a clean path to being Native American. To doubt that would be racist or something.

Ooh, that was foolish. It will end up in a campaign ad along with proof that she did just that.

I predicted this from the start.

Once somebody writes a big enough check (or shakes hands on a promise of providing Federal pork) some tribe will step forward and claim her.

“Eureka! We have discovered ancient tribal records that show she IS one of us after all!”

"I never used my family tree to get a break or get ahead. I never used it to advance my career,”

See, that's absolutely true. Because HER family tree is a boring old white European sort of family tree, and cannot be used to get ahead.

And that's why she made up a FAKE family tree which involved Native Americans -- because that's how to advance your career.

"...I never used my family tree to get a break or get ahead. I never used it to advance my career..."

From a Washington Post article at: "Did Elizabeth Warren check the Native American box when she ‘applied’ to Harvard and Penn?" (I did not even bother looking at Snopes, Politifact, FactCheck, CNN, or any of them because they are worthless. But I did see value in using the Washington Compost, which has to be considered a "friendly witness")

"...Warren first listed herself as a minority in the Association of American Law Schools Directory of Faculty in 1986, the year before she joined the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She continued to list herself as a minority until 1995, the year she accepted a tenured position at Harvard Law School. The former chairman of the American Association of Law Schools, David Bernstein, told the Herald that the group’s directory once served as a tip sheet for administrators. “In the old days before the Internet, you’d pull out the AALS directory and look up people,” he said. “There are schools that, if they were looking for a minority faculty member, would go to that list and might say, ‘I didn’t know Elizabeth Warren was a minority.’” Warren said she didn’t know Harvard had used her heritage as proof of diversity until reading about the issue in the news, according to a Herald report. She also denied that she ever tried to gain a professional advantage through her lineage..."

She is telling the truth when she says she never used her family tree to get ahead. That’s because her family tree wouldn’t have helped her, so she just lied instead, by telling her bogus “high cheek-bone story” and stealing a recipe out of a newspaper, and adding it to “Pow Wow Chow”.
