Trump: The Schumer-Rounds-Collins immigration bill would be a total catastrophe.

The Schumer-Rounds-Collins immigration bill would be a total catastrophe. @DHSgov says it would be “the end of immigration enforcement in America.” It creates a giant amnesty (including for dangerous criminals), doesn’t build the wall, expands chain migration, keeps the visa...

lottery, continues deadly catch-and-release, and bars enforcement even for FUTURE illegal immigrants. Voting for this amendment would be a vote AGAINST law enforcement, and a vote FOR open borders. If Dems are actually serious about DACA, they should support the Grassley bill!

Maybe I haven’t been keeping up, but why can’t we grant the dreamers the right to stay here and require that they apply for citizenship like everyone else.

OK but they have to go to the back of the line of applicants OUTSIDE the county who have already started the process. They and their leadeers - the Rinocrats - will not go along with such a proposal.

Why should they go to the front of the line since the DREAMERS came here ILLEGALLY by the very definition that #44 bestowed upon this group of law breakers.

If there is no wall there might as well be no bill.

I’m fully aware of that. My point is we have a lot of Republicans that are not representing their constituents or the President’s agenda.

Juan McStain is certainly NOT representing my state of AZ, and has been asked to step down while he recovers. HE WON'T I AM QUITE SURE so we only have one Senator at this point and that is Republicrat Flaky Flake.

“...Next challenge is to get the judiciary out of legislating and let DACA die and begin deporting illegal aliens as their waivers expire.”
*******************************************************I
And, to meet that challenge, the Senate needs to move to confirmation votes on ALL of Trump’s judicial nominees. If that takes the Senate being in session 24/7 so be it. The Turtleman needs to get the Senate to the point where it has confirmation votes on judicial nominees within 7 days of them successfully being approved by the Judiciary Committee.

MOVE ON IT NOW, MCCONNELL — NO MORE NOMINEE BACKLOGS.

So much for the "President Trump will sign anything and will betray us on immigration" pearl-clutchers! LOL!

The President made an unequivocal veto threat on this phony piece of legislation, and the "moderates" in the Senate knew he wasn't kidding.

The hand-wringing "Trump has no backbone" crowd look dumber—and more disingenuous—with each passing day...

Flake is as bad as McCain. Hope you fine folks in AZ send some better senators to D.C. next time.

Agreed, Trump is keeping his promises and has done a great job handling the RINO’S and Democrats on DACA.

If the states will pass a new amendment to repeal the 17th, then they could appoint all new senators.

Why doesn’t Trump use the same funding source that Obama used when he sent pallets of cash to Iran to fund the wall and bypass the Congress, then proceed to aggressively enforce existing immigration laws!

“I read that they only need to flip 3 more republicans and they will have 60 votes.”

True, several Democrats voted against it once they knew it wouldn’t pass (go figure). But they’ll need 67 votes before it can become law, plus about 100 Republican votes in the House...as they’ll have to override Trump.

Actually, I’m surprised that SO FEW Republicans jumped on the Amnesty train this round - they were trying to get to 70 votes in the Senate, and they couldn’t get beyond 57.

Wouldn’t that be a great idea!

However, you *cannot* imagine what the Wall Street media machine would do to any notion of a 17th amendment repeal.
Remember, 96% of the US population is public schooled.
