We castigated Bill Clinton over his committing violent rape, and his having an affair with his subordinate employee. If all the Clinton stories had just been about him having flings with women who voluntarily consented, most of us would have looked at Hillary and understood.

If Trump did do it, it could make him a blackmail target, which makes it a national security issue. Which is true for every bloody pol, BTW, not just the POTUS.
