NEW YORK – It has been five months since the FBI arrested 10 men in a sweeping federal probe into the underbelly of the basketball world. As the three ongoing criminal cases resulting from the investigation plod along, it’s increasingly unlikely there will be another wave of double-digit arrests.

More legal charges still could come, but what’s becoming increasingly clear as the discovery portion of the case comes to a close is that the breadth of potential NCAA rules violations uncovered is wide enough to fundamentally and indelibly alter the sport of college basketball.

We all know that the NCAA is a marvelous organization and has completely exonerated UNC from charges of academic fraud, and is on top of all cases of attempted sports cheating and corruption.

How can it be possible, that we are in for a new wave off more college basketball scandals?

the NCAA is so mad at North Carolina, Duke, and Ole Miss, they’ll give Drake, Prairie View and Hofstra the Death Penalty.

They sure were airing this out on sports talk earlier, some of these coaches might retire early to avoid some of the shame.

Good job, FBI. You can’t find your a$$ with both hands, but you sure know how to go after these crooks. Forget about the 17 dead kids; taking some coaches is more important.

So is trying to overthrow the governmentt.

REPLACE THE FBI.

Sometimes I look at the odds board for college basketball. I look at the point spreads. There are point spreads on teams that I have never heard of. How the hell do you come up with a point spread for the Siena of Ohio versus Slippery Rock College? It could not be to hard to have a player to be on the winning team, but win the game by a little bit less than the point spread. If you miss an easy shot or a free throw on purpose who would know?

This is a great comment but keep in mind that the death penalty applies to REPEAT VIOLATORS. Too many people chased the rabbit down that hole with regard to Penn State and Baylor and it never applied in any way to those matters. Likewise, it may not apply in the cases you mentioned.

However, as said, I do like the t-i-c comment.

It is fairly common sports knowledge that college basketball games are the easiest betting sports to fix. The Mafia did this for years.

Any college that attempts to claim that any member of their basketball team is a “student”, should have their accreditations yanked

Ok, maybe you did not follow the performance of the NCAA in investigating college athletics scandals. Did the extra f in the word off, which should have been the word "of" throw you off? Sorry for any confusion.
