there was a time when Conservatives understood and supported the concept of the user fee. Lately we have an influx of entitled millenial wannabes who expect everything for free while still trying to pass themselves off as conservatives.

I will say that it’s partially a result of people feeling overtaxed for other redistributionist efforts, so they resist taxes/fees that are justified. Which doesn’t mean you’re not 100% correct, it’s just an explanation of part of the reason why we’re here.
