Maybe because the FBI did not get their hands on the Hard-drives and possibly did not want to as it would blow their false narrative out of the water and reveal the download speed to be too fast if it were a Russian 5000 miles away.

“A group of former US intelligence officials contend that the hack of the Democratic National Committee’s computers in 2016 was an inside job.

The group, which calls itself the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, or VIPS, said there was an insider leak that occurred thanks to someone with access to a DNC computer.
The VIPS were formed in 2003 to protest the way the administration of George W. Bush manipulated intelligence to justify the Iraq war, Salon reported.

The VIPS theory relies on forensic findings by independent researchers who go by the pseudonyms “Forensicator” and “Adam Carter.” The former found that 1,976 MB of Guccifer’s files were copied from a DNC server on July 5 in just 87 seconds, implying a transfer rate of 22.6 megabytes per second — or, converted to a measure most people use, about 180 megabits per second, a speed not commonly available from U.S. internet providers. Downloading such files this quickly over the internet, especially over a VPN (most hackers would use one), would have been all but impossible because the network infrastructure through which the traffic would have to pass would further slow the traffic.”

Yes, I remember that story about the Internet speed. This is precisely why government officials need to be put under oath on this matter. We need to know if Mueller ever looked into this and - if not - why not?

Since the alleged DNC hacking was the original basis for the entire investigation, failure to delve into that matter would put the entire investigation under suspicion. It would strongly suggest that the DNC hacking story was just a pretext for launching an anti-Trump witch hunt. It would also suggest that high-ranking government officials were lying through their teeth.

The group, which calls itself the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, or VIPS

This group has absolutely no credibility...look them up on FR's keyword search feature.... they were part of the same group that, with the former ambassador to Gabon, Joe Wilson and wife Valerie Plame [who have since gone into supporting the Global Zero nuclear reduction project, a reincarnation of the old KGB supported Nuclear Freeze movement], they were also involved in the setup of Scooter Libby, and they were also involved in the Niger forgeries affair which worked to the advantage of the French company that provided "security" for yellowcake in Niger...Cotecna. They swore up and down that Niger's uranium was secure despite it later turning up in Libya.

VIPS is an anti-Semitic Lyndon LaRouche -linked organization started by Ray McGovern, one that supported John Kerry [which might explain their French] in 2004 and Obama against Hillary. Like LaRouche, they are adept at appearing to be hyperpatriots on one hand, but then in bed with the communists on another, sowing discord between US allies such as the UK and Israel.

They also affiliate with Dan Ellesberg's leaker project which is intended to cripple US intelligence.

And at least one of their number, Karen Kwiatkowski, attached herself to Ted Kennedy and fed him nonsense about the DoD. One of their bunch threatened a Freeper here some years ago when the freeper argued against one of their conspiracy theories.

Another was Tyler Drumheller, a source for Hillary's pal Sid Blumenthal. They're also frequently found in connection with Russia Today, and have been contributors to it. Ray McGovern and Jill Stein attended the awards event for RT and sat at Putin's table along with one of Trump's staffers, and likely are responsible for setting him up.

Their efforts to attach themselves to Trump are part of the reason Trump's got the cloud of suspicion over his head even in the eye of other conservatives.

2003: (RAY MCGOVERN AND FRIENDS FOUND VIPS) In 2003, together with other former CIA employees, McGovern founded the Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity or VIPS.

2005: (VIP’S RAY MCGOVERN TESTIFIES AT FORUM CONVENED BY DEMOCRAT JOHN CONYERS OF MICHIGAN ON THE DOWNING STREET MEMO -— see VIPS, DANIEL ELLSBERG) McGovern testified at a Democratic National Headquarters forum in 2005 that had been convened by Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) of the House Judiciary Committee on the Downing Street Memo.

Another VIPS “intelligence professional” ...comment on legendary congress critter Cynthia Mckinney:

“Congresswoman McKinney is viewed as a contrarian,” panelist Melvin Goodman, a former CIA official, said. “And I hope someday her views will be considered conventional wisdom.”
