HOWEVER, a LOT of research has indicated that for kids who come from horrible backgrounds, ONE teacher showing some kindness and interest totally changed that child's destiny from horror and prison to sometimes great success. So much Psychobabble! There is no way anyone could evaluate that or prove that. If one kid was reached by one teacher, the kid's destiny was not changed. I love the movie, "it's a Wonderful Life", but there is no way to know if one child was never born that the whole community is lost. Just as there is no way to know if one teacher asks a few questions that a serial killer was saved from his "destiny."

No one has a gun to your head forcing you to believe the facts.
The research was solid. Certainly there are exceptions but the commonality, prevalence of that issue was shocking, to the researchers.
