When Mark Janus got his first paycheck working as a child support specialist for the state of Illinois in 2007, he was stunned to see a nearly $50 deduction for union dues.
He had worked for the state in the 1980s and didnt remember anything like it.
Im going like, Im not a member of the union. Whats going on here? he said.
Worse yet was where he saw the union dues going, such as to efforts demanding wage increases at a time when Illinois was struggling with a crippling pension debt.
Now Mr. Janus is taking his case to the Supreme Court. Justices this month will hear his attorneys argue that he is being forced to subsidize views he doesnt support, violating his core First Amendment rights.
The case is one of the most-watched this term, two years after a union dues case ended in a 4-4 deadlock. Conservative activists are hoping that with Justice Neil M. Gorsuch bringing the court to nine members, they will be able to reach a decision and rein in the powerful unions.

I have always really liked the Washington Times. Their articles, including this one, are almost always well written, factual and balanced in their presentation of controversial topics unlike the WaPo.
Kennedy is good when it comes to free speech cases. If Mark Janus is gay and favors abortion rights, Kennedy is a lock.

The cycle pf bribery in public employee unions.
Union collects dues to bribe elected officials who vote o n the union benefits and salaries. Legislature votes to raise salaries and benefits and governor signs bill. Union raises dues and increases bribes to people who vote for their contracts.
What about the un-Constitutionality of mandatory fines for not paying for the market service called Health Insurance?

As a consequence of state officials allowing themselves to be put under the thumb of the union regarding taking union dues out of state pay checks, please consider the following.
Since state power is involved in abridging constitutionally enumerated rights, 1st Amendment-protected free speech in this case, evidently low-information state officials unthinkingly violated Section 1 of the 14th Amendment with respect to this paycheck issue imo.
"14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
"14th Amendment, Section 5: The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article."

If Roberts votes against the 1st Amendment, I will know he is hopelessly dirty. He is, I guess I just need to see it to be sure.
The Unions own large portions of our government.
Any sane reading of the constutution says a Union cannot extort money from members and FORCE THEM to contribute that money to the political party they despise.
But these are not sane times. These are corrupt times and the Unions own our government lock, stock, and barrel. I’m stunned SCOTUS is even taking the case.

My union forced me to contribute to Democrats only for my entire 34 year career. I am winding up my career, but I PRAY for those following me, SCOTUS does the right thing here, the Constituional thing.

We need Ginsberg and another commie lib justice to die. Trump needs 8 years in office and needs to install 2 more conservative justices on the Supreme Court. I pray to God.
