An MS-13 gang member in Texas was sentenced to 99 years behind bars after he was convicted of killing a man to achieve a higher position within the violent organization, officials said.
Jonathan Steven Guevara, 21, was handed the lengthy sentence by a jury on Tuesday for killing Hector Daniel Diaz, 28, in November 2015, according to a news release from the Harris County District Attorney’s office.
“The jury’s verdict and sentence on the case we presented speaks volumes about society’s judgment of this vicious behavior,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “We will hold these gangs accountable, convict them of their crimes, and lock them away for decades.”

Doesn’t Tejas have the death penalty? Seems like this would be a great opportunity to do an efficacy test of the electric chair.
Execution would have been preferable to 99 years in prison.

Sounds like a lot of accessories to indict, try, and convict. Why stop at one gang member?
So the Texas taxpayers get to feed and clothe this guy for the rest of his life? Dumb. One shot to the noggin would save a lot of money.

Not only do ‘We the People’ get to feed and house these (AND ALL) criminals but in the case of most who do get jail time, ‘We the People’ are paying to prosecute & defend & protect them.
Has to be a ‘better way’ at least when it comes to illegals, bad enough ‘we’ have to pay for the defense of US Citizens that commit crimes against ‘US’
And he will continue to commit crimes as a gang member in prison while tax payers are on the hook for his upkeep. Would be preferable to stop more of these thugs from getting here in the first place.
They need to have special cells with dirt floors and lots of fire ants for some of these lifers.....
