PARKLAND, Fla. — The woman (Roxanne Deschamps) left in charge of the accused Florida school shooter and his brother after their mom died last year filed court papers the day after the massacre seeking to be put in charge of the dead woman’s will — then had the alleged shooter’s brother involuntarily committed, a source close to the family revealed to The Post.

Cruz apparently was going to inherit at least $800,000 from his deceased parents, payable when he turned 22, according to paperwork the Sneads said they saw.

Because of this coming windfall, Cruz was paranoid and thought his mother’s friend was plotting to steal money from him, they said.

This women is crazy. Yes 800,000 is nice but with all the lawsuits that will be filed, I wonder if she will have to pay not only the 800,000 but since she was in charge of him and knew about the gun, she will get sued as well. I think she should forgo the 800,000 and shut the hell up.

Except for a miracle, what proper mental treatment could they get him ?

There is a reason there are grave warnings on those psychotropic meds. Those taking them should not have access to weapons, perhaps not cars, and perhaps not vote.

Lynda Cruz, his adoptive mother who died from pneumonia in November 2017, told mental health investigators in 2016 that her son suffered from ADHD, depression and autism but insisted he received his necessary medication as prescribed, according to the report. She told investigators at the time that her son did not own a gun, beyond an air gun that she had taken away when he "didn't follow house rules about only shooting it within the backyard at the targets."

Lynda Cruz told investigators that her son had started to cut himself after a breakup, the report said. She also "stated that there has never been any issues with other races or issues with racism in her family."

Though there had been an account of medical neglect, the report said that "[Cruz's] clinician from Henderson mental health has stated that there are no issues with [Cruz's] medication and he has been compliant with taking his medication and keeps all of his appointments."

If Mom died without a will, Florida should have a statutory hierarchy of preferences to appoint administrators of her estate, starting with kin. This woman looks like unlikely candidate.
