I don’t know if all of them were forced. Back in the day when, if they wanted to come here and had to strive for and wait to make it so, most of them appreciated American values. I’m for President Trump’s view, let in people that appreciate our values and can contribute to our society. I’m sure you share the same.

Yes, indeed.

If you read Betty Smith’s novel “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” she is quite upfront about the foreignness of new immigrants - Italians, Poles, Irish, etc. It was the public school system - once a jewel of American education before the unions destroyed it - that turned these kids into Americans.
