President Donald Trump paid tribute to iconic Christian evangelist Rev. Billy Graham, who passed away Wednesday at age 99 at his home in Montreat, N.C.

Trump took to Twitter to call Graham a great and very special man who will be missed by people of all faiths.

The GREAT Billy Graham is dead. There was nobody like him! He will be missed by Christians and all religions. A very special man.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 21, 2018

Graham, whose worldwide crusades and role as adviser to decades of U.S. presidents made him one of the best known religious figures of his time, preached to 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories, with "hundreds of millions more" viewing him on television, video, film and webcasts, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website.

Vice President Mike Pence also took to Twitter to pay tribute to Graham, writing that he changed the lives of millions by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

"We mourn his passing, but I know with absolute certainty that today he heard those words, 'Well done, good and faithful servant,'" Pence said. "Thank you, Billy Graham. God bless."

Billy Graham's ministry for the gospel of Jesus Christ and his matchless voice changed the lives of millions. We mourn his passing but I know with absolute certainty that today he heard those words, "well done good and faithful servant." Thank you Billy Graham. God bless you(2/2)

I had the privlege of hearing the Rev. Billy Graham in the 1960s at the Billy Sunday Tabernacle at Lake Winona in Warsaw, Indiana. Probably THE highlight of my 40 + years as a journalist. My story was featured in a local daily newspaper. Not only did listening to him change my life, but hard core national reporters were so moved, they came forward and kneeled to accept his message. He was truly a man for the ages.

You should post a copy of your featured story.

When I was 16, my mother amd grandfather took my brother and me to see Dr. Graham at the baseball stadium in KC in 1967, an experience that burned an indelible mark on me.

Well... a quick duckduckgo search shows this on bambam’s twitter:

“Billy Graham was a humble servant who prayed for so many - and who, with wisdom and grace, gave hope and guidance to generations of Americans.”

dear 353fmg,

re: ‘Never met him, but I wish I had. Billy Graham, pray for us.’

I can honestly say that he had been interceding on all of our behalf for all of his life. Even for little ol’ wayward me.

He had nothing hidden. No ‘Reverend Ike’ style “See that car? you bought it.”
