SUNRISE, Fla. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio was put on the defensive Wednesday by angry students, teachers and parents who are demanding stronger gun-control measures after the shooting rampage that claimed 17 lives at a Florida high school.
One of those confronting the Florida senator at a CNN's "Stand Up" town hall Wednesday night was Fred Guttenberg, whose 14-year-old daughter Jaime was killed on Feb. 14 with 16 others. Rubio was the lone Republican at the nationally broadcast gathering after Florida's GOP Gov. Rick Scott and President Donald Trump declined invitations to appear at the event in Sunrise, Florida.

Rubio responded that the problems laid bare by the shooting rampage "cannot be solved by gun laws alone," drawing jeering whistles from the crowd...

Student Cameron Kasky did not mince words telling Rubio, "It's hard to look at you and not look down the barrel of an AR-15 and not look at Nikolas Cruz" before asking squarely, "Can you tell me right now that you will not accept a single donation from the NRA?" The room erupted in cheers as Rubio replied that people buy into his agenda and that he supports laws to keep guns out of the hands of deranged people.

Student Cameron Kasky did not mince words telling Rubio, "It's hard to look at you and not look down the barrel of an AR-15 and not look at Nikolas Cruz"
What an amazingly stupid and intentionally divisive statement with no attempt to even have a serious discussion - if this "movement" were ever genuine it has quickly been hijacked by hyperpartisan activists - and that's this kind of a statement is regardless of whether the person who uttered it is from the school or not - hyperpartisan nonsense.
Their side loves to paint with a broad brush, calling anyone on our side who disagrees with the agenda of radical feminism as an advocate of "the war on women," why not reciprocate?
If Rubio lets some kid’s childish whine bother him then he isn’t much of a politician.
Its hard to look at liberals who accuse you of siding with a mass murderer.
When they want to deprive of your right to defend yourself against him.
Unlike Lil Marco, I’m not interested in finding common ground with them.
They can take their fascist outlook where the sun don’t shine.
This is going to come back and bite them hard. There are so many moments that conservatives will condense into a video, “I feel women should be able to defend themselves from rapists” Crowd: BOOOOOO! Rubio: “You’d have to ban all semi-automatics.” Crowd: “YeAAAAAHHHHH!” Skinhead girl: “I could care for your children better than you!”
There’s just so much cringe in that tape. The left always over extends their hand.
clueless little dipsticks

This kid’s parents never taught him to have respect. Inevitably somebody will, and he won’t be as gentle as Mommy Kasky....
The guy does a CNN Town Hall? What does he expect?
Miami is a Democrat cesspool.
No wonder Rubio got a chilly reception. What the hell was he thinking?
The townhall was fake and nowhere representative of FL much less than America.
That’s why President Trump and Gov. Scott declined the invitation to attend.
This was a top Rubio walked into. However the obnoxious student behavior was on display. This will only encourage contempt for these snotty snowflakes.
They are immature and rude. No civil discourse.
My brother joined the NRA today!
It’s okay, there were enough choice moments to use against them. In fact, it’s laughable, because FOXNews next morning will be saying “Why is it that leftists are against women defending themselves from rapists.” The CNN has to back-pedal, then the video will get played over and over. The real gumption was that skinhead girl saying she could care for Dana Loeshes kids better than her.
Ah, no, Miss Skinhead Florida, you’re not even 18. You have trouble keeping a notebook together (and a hairstyle). You can’t tell an adult that you know what we know.
The a-holes will crowd the meeting... Rubio is an idiot.
The a-holes will crowd the meeting... Rubio is an idiot.
These mobs are not representative of the American mind. Even the polls I’m seeing, they are asking gun questions in a way that you cannot answer yes or no if you are anti-gun control. But you can see people are NOT pro-gun control, and are trying to say, NO we do not want these laws passed.
The media is orchestrating a gun grab with these kids but grown ups here in FL do NOT want this to happen.
Rubio should have looked Kasky right in the eye and asked him “Can you tell me right now that you have not nor will ever accept any donation - either monetary or otherwise - from any George Soros or Bloomberg backed group?”
These idiots want the politicians they deride to be in sole possession of all the firearms. Smart move, idiots.
Their irrationality of the anti-gunners is brazenly obvious. Yet calling such spades a spade rarely seems to happen. Some conservative talking heads on some TV shows manage it--but male politicos seem to be tongue tied and whipped wimps. Sheesh.
We have logic and proven life examples on our side. Such should be shoved down the anti-gunners throats and up from the other end.
It is sheer unmitigatged stupidity to fantasize that a 'gun-free' school zone is going to be safer for students. What a brazen ignorant lie! And such should be noted at moderately loud volume in the face of every anti-gunner whatever the context and venue.
We should also offer to provide free signs for the front yard of every anti-gunner talking head:
"DEAR ROBBERS RAPISTS AND MURDERS--TRY OUR HOUSE FIRST--WE ARE ANTI-GUNNERS!"
