Donald Trump’s critics never imagined that more than a year into his presidency, his approval rating would be rising and just under 50%, the economy would be cranking up to a 4% growth rate, North Korea would have quieted down temporarily, U.S. oil production would be rising sharply and imports steadily declining, ISIS dispersed, over $6 trillion added to Dow-Jones Industrial stock values (despite Monday’s slide), and the Clintons as well as Mr. Trump’s official investigators facing far more serious legal questions than he is.
It was about a year ago that Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal suggested that the White House leaks could be Mr. Trump’s Watergate. ABC commentator Nate Silver said his chances of impeachment were 25% to 50%. David Gergen said, “We are moving into impeachment territory.”
This is the level that the criminalization of political differences has reached: If the Democrats regain control of the House, even by a paper-thin margin, they will vote articles of impeachment no matter how spurious.
This telltale assumption that President Trump isn’t legitimate, which really derives from the fact that he was a complete outsider to the political class and he attacked the Bushes and Clintons and President Obama in equal voice, is the tiny detritus of the original horror and disbelief and professed fear that he would plunge into foreign war while the country burst into flames and all social progress since FDR’s time would be rolled back.
While the hatred of Mr. Trump in some circles has not much abated, the extent of alarm and hostility he originally generated as he had outspokenly denounced the biases and ignorance of the mainstream press and circumvented them by his domination of the social media and the talk-radio field) has declined.

My brother is one of those people suffering TDS. Here is a short exchange:

Me: Obama, who committed many crimes, used federal intelligence and law enforcement agencies to spy on a presidential candidate, the President. Elect, and then the POTUS is a diversion. That dog don't hunt.

Me: Ulysses S Grant was a great military man but he was not a good businessman ever
Me: George Washington was primarily a businessman
Me: Eisenhower was in the military his whole life and never had a life outside of government service
Brother: All three Career officers. Washington built the country, Grant built the railroads, and Eisenhower built the Interstate, DARPA, NASA, and many other things, including Silicon Valley
Me: I have immense respect for all three of them and I did say in "in 100 years" not entire history of the United States
Me: Back in colonial times in both Europe and America all wealthy men served in the military, it was like the Elks club to them, especially in Virginia. Also in the 18th century troops were forbidden to shoot gentlemen

and yet we Trump supporters are not surprised in the least. we EXPECTED Trump to triumph and keep as many campaign promises as possible (subject of course to GOPe Congressional obstructionism) ...
They didn’t think he would start.
All of the media and Dem predictions of Trump failures have fallen flat. They could have been correct if they predicted the media and Dems failing instead.
