The local sheriff’s office received at least 18 calls about Florida school shooting suspect Nikolas Cruz over the past decade — including warnings that were passed on to the disgraced school deputy who failed to stop the massacre, according to a damning new report.
Records of calls about Cruz to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office reveal that in February 2016, neighbors called to say they feared he “planned to shoot up the school” after posing for Instagram photos with firearms, USA Today reports.
The information was passed on to the sheriff’s on-site officer at Stoneman Douglas High School, Deputy Scot Peterson — who resigned Thursday following revelations that he’d done nothing to intervene when Cruz stormed the school last week and slaughtered 17 people.
It’s not clear what Peterson did with that 2016 report — if anything. Cruz remained at the school for another year, before he was transferred out for threatening other students.

I suspect you are onto something - ‘orders from above.’ They were not to arrest black males and I suspect there were other favored colors/ genders, so as to make their statistics look better. This way they could get government grants. Thanks Obama - you doled out money to get the results you wanted. Just like the Global Warming grants - ONLY those who toe the line get the money. If this is the mandate - GET BETTER STATS - then that comes from the top, imho.

Using that POV, we can safely say there are for sure 14 students that are NOT ever going to go to jail.

I do think we need to get active and contact everyone about no gun control. I don't care if you don't like bump stocks or not we cannot accept any more violations of our Constitutional rights to make snow flakes feel good and so politicians can look like they are doing something.

One often hears about something being as strong as its weakest link. In this case all the links were weak!

According to his philosophy he thinks he’s a social worker not a law enforcement officer. If the dumbass had referred Cruz to some real social workers at some point in his 39 contacts it’s possible something could have been done about and for him.
And more importantly, in hind sight, something for the community he’s supposed to serve and protect.

Yep - I think Scot Peterson is a scapegoat here. Maybe he was told to wait, maybe he froze, maybe he wasn’t sure how to act within the special “rules” regarding student misbehavior.
But he is just one little cog in a GREAT BIG machine of incompetence, PC overdrive, lies, greed & coverups. It’s ugly and we’re probably going to be the only ones who ever know about it.
And gun “reform” is going to happen, sooner rather than later.

First, I am NOT defending Peterson, he is human and one never knows how a person would/would not react in such a circumstance. Someone might have several years of military training but when under enemy fire may fail to even fire their weapon. It happens, believe it or not.
This is what happens when you don’t allow for locked facilities and mandatory commitments

It’s *willful* lawbreaking, disregard of the Law and safety\security of the community\school...for MONEY.
Fedzilla, under Zero, held out the carrot of MORE taxpayer $$$, and the SB, city, county, law and Leftist institutions BROKE the law (did not report, did not follow-up, did not prosecute) so the dollars would come rolling in.
Why? Where did that $$ go to? The SB? The police? The city? Where’s the audit\accounting?
With everything known about this loser kid, why did his step-mother allow him access to the gun safe in the first place?
All these chances to stop this mongoloid SOB from killing 17 kids was just coincidence, right?
A significant number of them were making violent threats at the CNN "town hall meeting."
I think you may be right, time will tell of course. I think we will much more about this entire process. The left is using this to push more feel good but worthless gun control. So the people need to let the weak kneed politicians we won’t stand for it.
