When Coral Springs police officers arrived at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on February 14 in the midst of the school shooting crisis, many officers were surprised to find not only that Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Scot Peterson, the armed school resource officer, had not entered the building, but that three other Broward County Sheriff's deputies were also outside the school and had not entered, Coral Springs sources tell CNN. The deputies had their pistols drawn and were behind their vehicles, the sources said, and not one of them had gone into the school.

If he changed his policy after the fact it’s likely to come out in the aftermath.

The problem is with government officials who consider their personal well being more important than the public they are hired to support. This occurs at all levels of government.
We are cursed by a government mind set claims government does not exist for the sake of the public. These tyrants claim the public exists to support the government. This is precisely in conflict with our US Constitution.
Our Constitution exists to protect the public from government and to make government the servant of the public. The public is not defined as democratic, however, since that simply puts authority in the hands of any given plurality.
Our federalist system protects every single member of society from the machinations of the government and of any plurality.
The job of the “public servant” is to protect the rights of each individual and never to put their personal well being above the well being of their true masters, the people.
This form of government can only succeed if the people are moral. An immoral people are wholly incapable of sustaining our form of government.
Our enemies have been seeking the breakdown of morality in our culture for ages. Only in this way can we be destroyed. If we are to survive we must regain our moral standing.
We have been misled by our enemies to define morals are rights. The right to abortion, to drug abuse, to free sex, to all manner of licentious behavior are touted as moral. They are not.
Morals are not rights. Morality is based on wrongs, not rights. Killing babies is wrong. Sexual perversion is wrong. Lying is wrong. When we do not do wrong things we can claim to be moral.
Allowi8ng children to die at the hands of a murderer when the means to protect them is at hand is immoral. The actions of the police who cowered in fear rather than risk their personal safety for the sake of children was immoral.

What kind of filth would follow such an order?

One who wants to keep his job in a lib infested district but that didn't pan out for Deputy Scott Peterson, did it?

There was a shooting at a community college a few years ago in Oregon. Two detectives heard the call and were close by and raced to the school. In the interview the guys were saying how they were praying, and planning. Stop the car, get the vests out of the trunk, put them on, grab their rifles in the trunk, assess the situation, etc.

Well - they pull up and they hear the gunshots from a building. They jump out and race towards the shots with their pistols - the gunman stops shooting and runs into a room and either shoots himself or someone else shot him. (Their was an adult student that retrieved his gun from his car and also went after the gunman - I don’t recall how it ended.)

BUT - the arrival of the detectives, in their suit coats - and racing to engage the shooter is what stopped him. And I believe you are right - they didn’t follow the “plan” that they were probably supposed to wait for backup.

Sounds like the problem is with Broward County.

It has been since 2000.

The ONLY persons that can be armed and be depended on to do the job of protecting the students are the actual parents of the students...

Time and again the LEO's fail out of abject cowardice...Exceptions are rare.(Like the off-duty police officer hero in MD who, the other day, refused to give an attacker a clear view of the attacker's target and took a life-ending shotgun blast to the body at close range.)

NEA-type persons might be more interested in wondering just what the poor, down-trodden attacker had experienced to make him do such a thing...All the while hiding in a classroom closet while gunshots are loud and clear...

“Sounds like the problem is with Broward County”

Nope, it’s the way all police operate all over the country.

Whereas fireman will risk their life sometimes to rescue someone’s pet, police generally will not endanger themselves to save a life.

Those two rapidly accessed the situation which may only take a few to several seconds. They likely accessed they were dealing with a lone gunman (usually the case) who didn’t know that they were coming in or from what direction with such rapidity so surprise was on their side.

I just wanted to point out that the only reason the shooting stopped was because Cruz decided to stop shooting. Remember this, the police did NOTHING to stop the shooting. If Cruz had decided not to be taken alive (like most school shooters) he could have killed HUNDREDS while the police did NOTHING!

I don’t even know how to respond to this. Those deputies cowered behind their cars and let those people die.

Shame! Dishonor! Cowardice!

Debbie W/S*** is a Broward resident.....and she did nothing, as usual......... except spew out garbage.

Washington, February 14, 2018

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) released the following statement on the Broward County school shooting:

“As a Broward County resident for nearly 30 years and an elected official for most of that time, my heart breaks for the victims, their families, friends, and loved ones. As a parent of a Broward County high school student, and as someone with friends whose children attend Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, it is gut wrenching that another senseless school shooting has occurred, this time in our community.

In the United States of America, it is simply unacceptable that we allow children to run for their lives with their backpacks on. Unacceptable that we allow parents to fear for the worst while they wait to hear back from their kids, and unacceptable that we allow survivors of school shootings to live with a trauma that can never be explained away.

I stand with my community and our families and ask all Americans to keep the parents, siblings, spouses and loved ones in their prayers this evening. No American anywhere should have to feel the pain that Broward County feels today, and too many communities have felt across our country countless times before. We must do something about this senseless epidemic of gun violence and we must do it now.”

You won’t get any argument on any of that from me. But I’m still wondering of Israel has been fingered as the fall guy in an attempt to put the kibosh on a narrative that is spinning out of their control.
