Western diplomats have accused Russia, Syria's key ally, of stalling for more time. France said failure to act may spell the of the UN itself......

Commenting on Friday evening, US President Donald Trump pointed the finger of blame firmly at Syria and its allies, Russia and Iran, for the humanitarian crisis.

Trump should watch Russian news for the facts on the ground. Is that what you’re saying?

Trump has surrounded himself with liars. Faux News lies about Syria.

I don’t remember us asking for a cease fire with Al Qaeda in Afghanistan or Iraq. Nor should we in Syria.

Al Qaeda is shelling the Syrian capital from East Ghouta. Israel or the US would have leveled East Ghouta 50 times already.

The NeoCons are using Al Qaeda and Trump is letting them take us for a ride. Very disappointing. Hopefully, he’ll go back to his core beliefs soon.

There’s plenty of propaganda being put out including the media of the Al-Qaeda elements along with the Islamic State that occupy the Ghouta pocket where the hundreds of civilians are being killed according to the jihadist media.

Our nation, the French, the UK do a lot of business with the Saudis who back the “rebels” in Syria.

That’s what drives this cause. There is no principle behind it, only $$$$$$$$$.

The Jihadists in East Ghouta have built a tunnel city underground. The engineering for these tunnels came from Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group.

Nextrush, even Russians are not buying your perspective anymore either. Especially those who lost precious loved ones as mercenaries. And nobody appreciates the fog of lies surrounding their presence in the region. But the Kremlin has no interest in lifting it of course - particularly so soon before the March 18th “electoral” confirmation of Putin’s next term in office.

His perspective is on the money. The Saudis backed this whole revolt against the Assad regime to begin with using jihadists and the Russians and Iranians got in the way of the whole enterprise.

Now we have to have demonization of Russia to get rid of Assad on behalf of what?

Saudi Arabia and Western nations connected to it by financial ties.

Even President Trump visited the place and did the sword dance with their royals last year. Saudi money is buying US military weapons and will be used to build infrastructure in this country.

Thanks Nextrush. It isn't all bad news...
France said failure to act may spell the of the UN itself.
President Trump gets the most bang for the buck, leaving Erdogan an opportunity to get back into the fold, helping break up the Menage a trois while reminding everyone of the NATO committment without actually mentioning it.
US President Donald Trump pointed the finger of blame firmly at Syria and its allies, Russia and Iran, for the humanitarian crisis. "What those three countries have done to people over the last, short period of time is a disgrace," he said, speaking alongside the visiting Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in Washington.

Good point...the fact is that Al Qaeda affiliates are the main opposition to the Syrian government after ISIS, and its impossible for anyone to tell them apart.

Trump better get a handle on his foreign policy, or he's headed for another war.

This whole thing is part of a big picture.

At the end of the Winter Olympics four years ago the pro-Russian government in Ukraine was toppled I think as revenge for their intervention in Syria.

Now another Winter Olympics is underway.

What’s next?

Russia moved some aircraft into Syria including two of their stealth aircraft in recent days.

Yes. Trump has played the US cards right then it seems. Very balanced involvement.

This is ultimately about Israel in the long run...and that’s what puts Putin in a bind.

The USA has long term relations with the jihadist rebel backing Saudis as well as Israel.

That plays into what has been going on in Syria.

Interesting...Russia was hosting that one so it made it especially difficult.

I always thought the Ukraine coup was an attempt at payback for the Russian incursion into Georgia in 2008.

Here's Putin informing Bush during the Beijing games that Russian tanks are pouring to Georgia.

Yes to you but also I sensed Ukraine was somehow linked to Syria.

I say that because the Ukraine rebels actually had ex-Israel Defense Forces helping them.

The story from “Haaretz”

Pretty sad that an ex-IDF Israeli Jew had to take orders from Svoboda, but it was a fascist run operation.

I remember reading about a Swedish Nazi who went to Ukraine with a hunting rifle in 2014 to shoot Russians.

He fit right in there.

Stuff like that just doesn’t make sense unless we were seeing Israeli intervention in the situation through those people.

I'll disagree.

The guy was a Ukrainian born Israeli who got caught up in the national fervor of the moment. The fact he served in the IDF was incidental. Almost all Israeli adults serve in the military at some point, so no big deal.

I also remember reading about a couple of Ukrainian Americans who ended up on the Eastern front in one of the militia battalions. Similar story, as they got to wondering what they were really doing there after the enthusiasm wore off.

Don't get me wrong, the Israelis are definitely involved with the Ukrainian oligarchs, many of whom are dual citizens. I just don't think they had much to do with organizing and executing the coup, which was strictly a covert EU/USA effort.
