In the absence of reasonable belief that a crime was committed, there never should have been a Special Counsel appointed. A Special Counsel is not supposed to be the equivalent of Lavrentiy Berias secret police, someone who finds the man and then tries to find the crime.
The reason thats so dangerous is that the federal (and state) criminal laws, in the hands of an aggressive prosecutor, can be abused. Someone who is an expert on that problem is Harvey Silverglate, a Boston civil liberties attorney who, among other things, was co-founder of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education.
So should we trust Mueller not to abuse his power of investigation, not to seek to find a person and then look for the crime?
Harvey Silverglate had an experience with Mueller that is chilling. Mueller tried to set Silverglate up for a crime, to entrap Silverglate into committing a crime. Silverglate writes at the website of public broadcaster WGBH, How Robert Mueller Tried To Entrap Me
Fortunately for Silverglate, he was listening carefully, not talking on the phone or surfing the internet, so he heard and was able to process what unexpectedly had been revealed. And he thought quickly enough to kick the person out of the office before the document was signed, as opposed to choosing after the signing not to use the affidavit. And all the while Muellers prosecutors were listening, likely ready to prosecute a civil liberties lawyer for a crime Muellers team created.
Silverglate then recounted a second encounter with Mueller, in which Mueller forcefully took off the table any willingness to investigate alleged FBI and prosecutorial misconduct in the Jeffrey MacDonald case, in which Silverglate was appellate counsel for MacDonald.

this was what it was supposed to be about:

Wikipedia: Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections
The Russian government interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election in order to increase political instability in the United States and to damage Hillary Clintons presidential campaign by bolstering the candidacy of Donald J. Trump, Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein...

this is how BBC headlines all reporting on the matter, even when the stories have nothing to do with Russia interfering in the US presidential election: “Trump-Russia”:
23 Feb: BBC: Trump-Russia: Manafort ‘paid European ex-politicians’
Mr Trump’s ex-deputy campaign manager, Rick Gates, has admitted conspiracy and lying to investigators in a plea deal.
Mr Mueller is investigating claims of Russian political meddling in the US.
There are no allegations that either man colluded with Russia to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election, which is the main thrust of the justice department investigation.

WHY HASN’T MUELLER INDICTED CHRISTOPHER STEELE, FUSION GPS, HILLARY CLINTON FOR COLLUSION WITH RUSSIA? WHAT ABOUT INDICTING MCCABE, ROSENSTEIN, ETC ETC. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
“Mueller isn’t interested in the truth or in doing his job honstly. he’ll use any means necessary, legal or not.”
Let’s face facts. Mueller wouldn’t have Weissman on board if he wasn’t looking to use any means necessary legal, or not.
this practice should be stopped before it gets any worse or becomes the normal course of US law.
Congress should should not be allowed to violate the Bill of Rights by appointing a "Special Counsel" to create an end run around our basic rights for political means and methods
Amendment 4
Protection from Unreasonable Searches and Seizures The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched and the persons or things to be seized.
Amendment 5
Protection of Rights to Life, Liberty, and Property No person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation.
Mueller needs to be behind bars.
Its hard to believe that this guy was at one time a Marine rifle platoon commander. Freakn traitor to his oath.
Believe Silverglate, who I know personally....that this happened. By the way, Silverglate & Alan Dershowitz are best friends which is why Alan is so upset & anti-Mueller.
That’s all these special prosecutors have. Entrap the victim and indict them for “lying” or “perjury”. It’s all these ***holes ever have. Every one of these “investigations” end up the same way. They are nothing but political fiascos.
That’s why we have elections...We elected a chief executive in 2016. DJT. The chief law enforcer. We didn’t elect mueller. He works for Trump as does Sessions & Rosentstein. This is an illegal, extra-constitutional ‘check’ on the President of the United States by corrupt members of the previous administration.
IOW, Mueller is conducting an overt coup under the guise of law. High treason. Unfortunately, he has the backing of the corrupt state, both parties, corrupt courts and the fakestream media.
17 Feb: Law and Crime: Robert Barnes: Does Mueller Indictment Mean Clinton Campaign Can Be Indicted for Chris Steele?
(Robert Barnes is a California-based trial attorney whose practice focuses on Constitutional, criminal and civil rights law)
Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted foreign citizens for trying to influence the American public about an election because those citizens did not register as a foreign agent nor record their financial expenditures to the Federal Elections Commission. By that theory, when will Mueller indict Christopher Steele, FusionGPS, PerkinsCoie, the DNC and the Clinton Campaign? Muellers indictment against 13 Russian trolls claimed their social media political activity was criminal because: they were foreign citizens; they tried to influence an election; and they neither registered under the Foreign Agents Registration Act nor reported their funding to the Federal Elections Commission...

hope his conclusion is wrong.
public pressure needs to be put on Mueller to indict the real culprits who colluded with Russians to try to stop Donald Trump become President.
Mueller may very well be following the law, but I dare say every American violates some sort of federal or state law every day. Even if one is absolutely innocent, get called in to make a statement to law enforcement, say anything that could possibly be interpreted as being untrue, and you open yourself up for prosecution under perjury laws.
Its called lawfare, and its how the politically powerful use laws to attack and harass opponents. Dare raise your head and theyll be busting down your doors at 3 AM with a search warrant signed by a complicit judge. Even if you win, youll go through years of legal harassment and considerable expense.
Like we conservatives dont know the score. We do, and its sickening!
It should be of grave concern to all of us that a Federally authorized investigator, with unlimited funds and unlimited time, can “investigate” anything he wants (since he was not tasked with investigating any crime). It is grossly obvious to a normal observer that Mueller and his entire team of biased, left leaning “investigators” do not appear to be investigating anything but President Trump, taking down those most vulnerable around him hoping to elicit “proof” of a crime by intimidation, financial ruin and prison time. What is shocking is that they are doing this IN THE OPEN, in the faces of senior department heads - Sessions - with NO consequences.......shocking. I’m beginning to believe this SWAMP has no bottom.
There’s plenty of “grave concern” around here. What we lack is the authority to change things. Those who have authority lack the spine to use it to put a stop to Democrats running amok.
The Mueller Mafia.
NEVER SAY ANYTHING !
Are you suggesting the Mueller indict himself?
Bump

It is shocking. An overt coup.
