FAIRFAX, VA The more than five million law-abiding members of the National Rifle Association have enjoyed discounts and cost-saving programs from many American corporations that have partnered with the NRA to expand member benefits.
Since the tragedy in Parkland, Florida, a number of companies have decided to sever their relationshipwith the NRA, in an effort to punish our members who are doctors, farmers, law enforcement officers, fire fighters, nurses, shop owners and school teachers that live in every American community. We are men and women who represent every American ethnic group, every one of the worlds religions and every form of political commitment.
The law-abiding members of the NRA had nothing at all to do with the failure of that schools security preparedness, the failure of Americas mental health system, the failure of the National Instant Check System or the cruel failures of both federal and local law enforcement.
Despite that, some corporations have decided to punish NRA membership in a shameful display of political and civic cowardice. In time, these brands will be replaced by others who recognize that patriotism and determined commitment to Constitutional freedoms are characteristics of a marketplace they very much want to serve.
Let it be absolutely clear. The loss of a discount will neither scare nor distract one single NRA member from our mission to stand and defend the individual freedoms that have always made America the greatest nation in the world.
So that leaves Thrifty and Dollar. Any others I missed?
I’ve been a member for years. I’m going to send some money to the NRA political arms, NRA-ILA (Institute for Legislative Action), and NRA-PVF (Political Victory Fund).
I just cashed in the reward points from my NRA VISA card. Getting a Cabela’s gift card, and maybe use it toward my next gun. Going to cancel the credit card and see where the NRA goes next.
The NRA needs to publish the LIST. Pronto. This will be a cash cow for them, from their small donors. We’re sending in as well.
Huffington Post states there are around 14 million members! But those are not paying members they’re just saying they are members to the pollsters.
Ditto

ACE, Advantage, Budget, Payless
I also just joined the NRA and will be a proud member for the next year.
Budget is on the anti-NRA list.
I reinstated my membership yesterday. Got a nice Duffel bag with NRA blazoned on it and a free magazine subscription.
I think it would be pretty cool for thousands of FReepers to
walk into or phone these various car rental
companies as if they were intent on renting a car.
When the car rental associate asks if they can be of service
the FReeper asks if they give discounts for NRA members.
When the associate says “We no longer provide discounts
for NRA membership” the FReeper responds, “Thanks
anyway” then walks out the door or hangs up the phone.
I doubt if this will change any minds after
it eventually filters up to the corporate level but
it will give these asshats something to think about.
Normally, flying into LAX it’s either Avis, Enterprise, or Hertz. I’m looking for a good alternative now.
They are one of Rush’s sponsors. Wish he would tell them to pound sand.
Will Rush have to guts to tell them he doesn’t want their business??
yup.
They are just stupid.
The people they are supporting are sick.
Oops, thanks.
I let mine lapse but just re upped.
