Boko Haram: Haram is Arabic for forbidden; boko means fake. Therefore, the fake is forbidden. By 'the fake', they mean western education. Thus, Boko Haram --> western education is forbidden.

In a stable society, where a western education resulted in the educated having higher incomes, the educated could buy guns and be able to defend themselves from the savages.

But Nigeria is not a stable society.
